Lida’s Reading List
I am really enjoying the luxury of my reading time – so relaxing! I’ve been catching up on books I’ve wanted to read, but didn’t have time, and making time to read those recommended by my fellow S&S authors.

Staging Wars # 2 A Laura Bishop Mystery by Grace Topping
Peach Cobbler Murder #7 A Hannah Swensen Mystery by Joanne Fluke

As Tina said in her recent post, I start and end the day reading—and I love it! You can see that when I find an author I enjoy, I generally read several books of theirs in a row, if not the entire series. I’ll be reading John Grisham for a while now.

The Distant Hours by Kate Morton

Jen’s Reading List
I was away for ten days on a whirlwind family vacation this month, so my reading time was severely curtailed. While I intellectually understand the concept of a beachside vacation spent with bags of books, I’m more of a “walk ten miles each day and come home exhausted but happy” type of traveler.
Confidence by Denise Mina (finished)
Lives in Ruins: Archaeologists and the Seductive Lure of Human Rubble by Marilyn Johnson (in progress)
Sea of Tranquility: A Novel by Emily St. John Mandel (finished)
Psycho by the Sea by Lynne Truss (in progress)
A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond (finished)
More about Paddington by Michael Bond (in progress)
The Case of the Bizarre Bouquets: An Enola Holmes Mystery by Nancy Springer (finished)
Henry Reed, Inc. by Keith Robertson (finished)
Tina’s Reading List
My reading is skewed toward Japan these days. I am crossing my fingers that a trip is in the stars for me soon. I am shooting for November, so I’m getting a head start. Most of these are in progress and you’ll see that I have a couple of carryovers from last month. I guess that’s what happens when you try to read too many books at one time. (Is there really such a thing as reading too many books?)
Blacktop Wasteland by S.A. Cosby
Bullet Train by Kotaro Isaka – Finally starting this book now that the movie is coming out
Bewilderment by Richard Powers – This was my book club’s pick and it is fabulous
Tokyo Ueno Station by Yu Miri
Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami – I am enjoying the audiobook for my second visit with this book
Japanese Cinema: A Personal Journey by Peter Cowie – I’ll be reviewing this one
Waiting on the Weather: Making Movies with Akira Kurosawa by Teruyo Nogami
Life Ceremony by Sayaka Murata
Kimono Tattoo by Rebecca Copeland
