Carol’s Reading List
I read a mix of mysteries this month but I stayed mainly with my favorite category—British mysteries. Over the years, I’d heard of Val McDermid—often called Scotland’s “Queen of Crime”—but had never read her books. I picked up her first Karen Pirie historic (aka cold) case mystery and loved it. I read the entire series. I’m looking forward to trying some of her other books soon.

The Distant Echo (Karen Pirie novels #1) by Val McDermid
The Skeleton Road (Karen Pirie novels #3) by Val McDermid

This month has felt very “normal” in terms of my reading, a mix of favorite authors and new-to-me reads. I’m especially loving getting back into more non-fiction reads, which always get my creative wheels turning.

Tina’s Reading List
This month has been about rounding out my reading—finishing books I wasn’t able to finish last month, reading advanced copies for reviews and blurbs, and starting a few long-awaited books. I was also thrilled to read a few entries in two recently released anthologies in which I have contributions. This month was not a productive reading month—my first, and hopefully last, bout with COVID left me with headaches and brain fog, so my reading was limited.
