Dorothy L. Sayers’s atmospheric Gaudy Night takes place among the famed spires of Oxford University. Well-known mystery writer Harriet Vane receives an invitation to return to her alma mater for an alumni reunion. The invitation includes a secret mission: quietly find out who is sending poison pen letters to the staff of the (fictional) College of Shrewsbury. When the situation worsens, Harriet seeks help from her beau, Lord Peter Wimsey. A classic Golden Age mystery, rich in intriguing characters, filled with twists and turns.
